Arise!

Arise. As they say. Shine.

The light is upon us.

A new day has come.

Few will see what you’ve accomplished

and where you’re headed.

You will not make the Times

or E! or even your favorite journal.

Arise. As they say. Shine.

Anyway. Despite all of that.

You are not that which in days

of old moved heaven, earth

Or mountains.

The light has come. A new day is here.

Go to it.

This longing, this calling,

known to just a few,

is what matters in the end.

And how you respond.

Arise. As they say. Shine.

All the fear. All the doubt —

Just food, just calories

to get you off your chair

and to the world — to the life,

that is yours

and yours alone.
