Psalm 3

Rise, O God.
Awake from your slumber.

Rise up,
that I might know myself as free.

I’m drowning over here. So many distractions.
So many thoughts.
So much fear.

So many want to see me fall.
They mock me. They call me out.

Go after them God,
the rock of my salvation,
source of my liberation.

Quiet those thoughts.
Quiet my soul.
I long for the silence that is sacred and whole.

You saw me through the dark night.
See me through this.

I’m awake now because you saw me through the night.
I’m standing cause you gave me the strength and held me upright.

What should I fear? Who makes me afraid?
Nothing. No one.
