The gods sat
in council.
Notes taken.
The lakes will
require
slivery silvery
oblongs
that flitter here
and flatter there.
Quick as rainfall.

The god who had a special and enduring interest in the name of things (which is a magic of its own) enquired:

What shall we name these oblongs
the ones that sliver and silver?

‘The name of that magic that flows from the sun,’
said the god who had special and enduring interest in the magic of things.
