The Rains Will Come

Look, even now you must remember that the rains will come.
The land is parched. The sun is hot. The day, it never ends.
But there will come rain, sweet, blessed rain,
To drench you in the cleansing reminder that you are whole
And just right and right where you need to be.

Look, even now you must remember the morning will come.
Joy will come in the morning. The sun will come and wash
You in new hope and new possibility and yes, blessed
Rebirth. Blessed renewal. You are not done yet.
The sun will baptize you in love’s possibility.

Look, even now you must remember that yes you are old.
Yes, there are fewer days ahead of you than are behind you.
So what. The days, after all, are gods.
You have 10,000 gods left. 12,000. That is a lot of gods.
Get to worshipping already. Get to singing. Pray, without
Ceasing. Even now. Look, even now.
